Software
Partly as a result of the same factors that resulted in me becoming professional software developer, and partly because I just needed to get things done with these infernal computer things, I have written a fair amount of software in my free time. Some of that software might actually be useful or interesting (but probably not both!), so I am happy to share it here.

I've written (or designed, or extended, or...) far more valuable software packages, but sadly I don't have the rights to distribute any of those:
- Even before joining a life-science software company, my software was already used in 6 of the top 10 pharmaceutical companies. (Although that will be 5 of the top 9 pharmaceutical companies after the Pfizer-Wyeth merger!).
- I've performed bespoke customisation of various open source packages.
- For a while I was a, not highly employed, independent contractor developing software in Perl, C and C++.
- Later, I worked for a software consultancy company, and was involved in many interesting things including:
